Due to a change of the forum software I updated the links in the table on Sep 23rd 2021, which reset all counters. The number behind each link is a click counter. Click my avatar to message me, if you miss a tag and cannot create it yourself. Mythical and Empowered sets and items share their tag with lower level versions. In addition to the class you can specify damage types, play-style, sets, Monster Infrequents, signature skills and other descriptors. During early access game builds were numbered B8 to B31 since May 2013Īs thread owner you can add up to five tags to your initial post.Grim Dawn released with version 1.0.0.0 in February 2016.Ashes of Malmouth with version 1.0.2.0 in October 2017.Forgotten Gods started with version 1.1.1.0 in March 2019.You can refer to the game version, which is often used in the title: Even if a build does not use the new masteries, it might rely on other stuff, which would not be available to you unless you acquire the necessary expansion(s). Not only do Inquisitor and Necromancer require the Ashes of Malmouth expansion and Oathkeeper Forgotten Gods, but the expansions have also added new items and constellations. Depending on if you only have the base game or also the expansion(s), not all builds are relevant to you. Visit them for more detailed build descriptions. There are other pyromancer ideas like chaos mortars, fire doombolt or fire dreeg's evil eye, but as they don't have that much support gear-wise it's more or less a build with handicaps. The above links partly overlap with the Build Compendiums. There's also a fire caster with Fire Sigils, Thermite Mines and Cocktail that makes sense as a Pyromancer too, just yet again it's not a very strong build since the only extra thing Occultist brings to the table is Fire Sigil of Consumption, and that's not a very strong skill too (helps to survive though). There is a chaos gunslinger build based on Firestrike, it's just gunslingers aren't very meta at the moment, especially non-Inquisitor ones. That doesn't mean that you can't actually build an endgame Pyromancer that makes sense. With two best Demolitionist skills having ill synergy with Occultist it shouldn't come as a surprise that Pyromancer isn't regarded as a strong class. You can't convert burn to chaos, chaos simply has no DoT counterpart. Two strongest "meta" Demolitionist skills right now are Blackwater Cocktail with High Potency, and Canister Bomb - they are burn damage skills basically, fire is more secondary there. That's actually a very important thing to understand. So Pyromancer is a chaos class basically, for the vast majority of fire build ideas pyromancer won't be optimal. It's a chaos support mastery with lots of flat chaos damage and %chaos, all it lacks is chaos resistance reduction, which incidentally Demolitionist has. Occultist is NOT a very good mastery for elemental stuff, that -% elemental resistance on Curse of Frailty is there for pets mostly. Problem is Inquisitor also has -% elemental resistance reduction, %elemental damage and %crit, while Occultist only has -% elemental resistance reduction. And it's basically indispensable for characters that need to stand still to do damage, like gunslingers.īut that's not all, if Pyromancer was squishy but good offensively people might had worked around it. So Inquisitor Seal just has no counterweight in Occultist. Occultist has Aspect of the Guardian and Possession as means of damage mitigation, which is a rough equivalent of Inquisitor's damage reduction on Aura of Censure plus racial defense on Word of Renewal. The main reason is Inquisitor has Inquisitor Seal. > Why is that? Explain to me like Im a 5 yr old. > I read it's a weak combo long term and that the inquisitor is more preferred. Released in 2016, it currently has two expansions: Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods.
